PE:Region is financed by Interreg Deutschland-Denmark with 2.5 million euros from the European Regional Development Fund. Another 0.5 m euro is granted by Syddansk Vækstforum as regional industrial development funds. The project must ensure that state-of-the-art knowledge is rooted in research environments on either side of the Danish-German border and that project results will be beneficial to local industry.
University of Southern Denmark (SDU) represented by the Mads Clausen Institute and the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moeller Institute are lead partners of the Interreg 5 A project PE:Region. Project partners are located on both sides of the Danish-German border and besides SDU they encompass: Sønderborg Vækstråd, Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel (CAU), Fachhochschule Kiel, FuE FH Kiel GmbH and WTSH.
Moreover, a number of Danish and German networking partners and industrial enterprises take part in the collaboration.
